3 Reasons to Love Living in Little Forest Hills

Keep It Funky

A Little History of Little Forest Hills

Little Forest Hills is an awesome neighborhood located in the Lake and Garden District of East Dallas. It features mature trees, friendly neighbors and eclectic homes. The community has over 900 homes, originally developed in the 1930’s and 40’s lake houses and cabins to the newly built White Rock Lake. At the time, it was considered a weekend retreat at the outskirts of town. In the 80’s and 90’s the neighborhood attracted artists and musicians. These creative Dallasites were drawn to the affordability of the homes, the tree lined streets and the close proximity to White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum. Over the years, the residents have become more affluent, the quaint lake houses have been updated, remodeled and expanded, but the vibe remains fun and funky and the community is still full of local artists, musicians and creatives.

Here are 3 Reasons why I LOVE Little Forest Hills.

#1) It’s a close community. The neighbors know each other and look out for one another. For those who like to socialize, the Little Forest Hills Neighborhood Association coordinates several events throughout the year such as the 4th of July Parade, The Wine-O-Group (“WOG”) and the LFH Funky Fielders – softball team.

#2) The neighborhood is peaceful and serene. Little Forest Hill residents enjoy large lots and mature trees, close to White Rock Lake. It’s a perfect location for folks who want that urban retreat.

#3) Location! Location! Location! It is 5 minutes from Downtown Dallas and has easy access to major highways such as I30 and 635. Not to mention the great proximity to Casa Linda shopping center and other neighborhood favorite like Good Friends, The Lot and Lounge Here. And for all of the nature lovers, you can easily walk, jog or bike to White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum.
